First and Last Frame Extractor
Save the first and last frame of any video as a full quality PNG in one click. Runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded.
Everything runs in your browser. Your video is never uploaded, and nothing is stored.
How to use it
Drop a video onto the box, or tap it to pick one from your device. Press First frame to save the opening frame, or Last frame to save the closing frame. Each one appears below as a PNG you can download. Frames are saved at the video's original resolution, so there is no quality loss. This is handy for AI video tools like Kling, Veo, Sora and Runway that take a start and end image, for making thumbnails, or for continuing a clip from exactly where it stopped.
Questions
Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No. The video is opened directly in your browser and the frames are drawn on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
What quality are the frames?
Each frame is saved as a PNG at the full resolution of the video, with no compression.
Can I use these frames in AI video tools?
Yes. Kling, Veo, Sora, Runway and similar tools accept a start or end image, and these frames work well for that, including continuing a clip from its last frame.
Why is the last frame slightly before the very end?
Some videos have no picture on the final timestamp, so the tool grabs a frame a fraction of a second earlier to make sure you get a real image.
Which files does it accept?
Any video your browser can play, such as MP4, WebM and MOV. Some MKV or AVI files may not open in every browser.
